About

Winslow Township is an 80 person police department that covers 58 square miles in Camden County. Winslow Township is a diverse community with over 39,000 residents.

 

Job Description 

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of duties involving the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations; issues citations; participates in and conducts a variety of criminal investigations; makes arrests; provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs; and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of law enforcement services and activities. 

 

We are a civil service department with which you can take the NJ State Civil Service Exam https://www.nj.gov/csc/ to become available to apply.

New changes to the civil service laws now provide an alternative path to becoming a full-time police officer without taking the entry-level examination.


Key Details

 SALARY: $45,000 - $122,000

TRAINING: 26 weeks at the Police Academy

Requirements

These minimum requirements must be met before applicant can apply:

 

  • Must be between 18-35 years old
  • US Citizen
  • Graduated from High School or GED Program
  • Valid New Jersey Driver's License
  • Or:

  • Class II certification or Alternate Route Trainee (currently in an academy)

  •  Or:

  • Take the NJ State Civil Service Exam https://www.nj.gov/csc/

(If you possess a full time PTC certification, under Civil Service rules, we cannot hire you unless your department consents to a transfer)
