NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWNSHIP OF WINSLOW

ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WINSLOW, COUNTY OF CAMDEN, 

 AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY, ACCEPTING DEDICATION OF BLOCK 12602,

LOT 36 (DEVONSHIRE COURT STORMWATER BASIN LOT)

FROM WILTON’S CORNER COMMERCIAL, LLC

WHEREAS, Wilton’s Corner Commercial, LLC (“Developer”) is the owner of stormwater basin lot associated with a large residential development that was created by its predecessor-in-interest and was intended, pursuant to a preliminary and final major subdivision approval, to be dedicated to the Township of Winslow, but such dedication was never perfected; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Winslow has maintained the Devonshire Court Stormwater Basin Lot for the past twenty (20) years and desires to accept dedication of the Devonshire Court Stormwater Basin Lot; and

WHEREAS, the Developer has prepared a Deed in order to convey the aforementioned basin lot to the Township, attached hereto as Exhibit “A”; and

WHEREAS, the Township Tax Collector has confirmed that the tax records for the lot referenced above indicates that there are no outstanding liens and that less than $100.00 of property taxes are outstanding as of the time of the dedication; and

WHEREAS, the Township engineer has reviewed and approved the legal description for the Devonshire Court Stormwater Basin Lot and has advised the Township that it has no objections to the aforementioned dedication from an engineering standpoint; and

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:12-5(a) authorizes the Township to accept the dedication of the stormwater basin lot; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Committee have deemed it in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare to accept the dedication of the stormwater basin lot as aforesaid. 

NOW THEREFORE, be it Ordained by the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Winslow, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, as follows:

SECTION 1:  The Township of Winslow hereby accepts dedication of Block 12602, Lot 36 (Devonshire Court Stormwater Basin lot) from Wilton’s Corner Commercial, LLC.

SECTION 2:  The Tax Collector is hereby authorized to cancel the outstanding taxes on the subject parcel which is less than $100.00.

SECTION 3:    The Mayor, Township Clerk and Township Solicitor are hereby authorized to execute all such documents as are necessary to accept the conveyance of said property.

SECTION 4:   True copies of the deed shall be on file in the Township Clerk’s Office upon adoption of this Ordinance and recordation of the deed.

SECTION 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SECTION 6:    If the provisions of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance shall be judged invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order of judgment shall not affect or invalidate the remainder of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance.

SECTION 7:   This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication in accordance with law.      

Notice is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced and passed upon first reading at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Winslow on the   19th day of  August 2025 , at 7:00 P.M., and the same was then ordered published according to law; and the same ordinance will be further considered for final passage during a meeting of the Mayor and  Township Committee of the Township of Winslow to be held in the Mayor Dominic Maiese Municipal Complex, 125 S. Route 73, Braddock, New Jersey on September 9, 2025, commencing at 7:00 P.M., prevailing time, or at any time and place to which such meeting from time to time may be adjourned. All persons interested will be given an opportunity during said time to be heard concerning such Ordinance by order of the Mayor and Township Committee.
