FULL TIME – COMPACTOR TRUCK DRIVER POSITION

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP seeks full-time Compactor Truck Driver (s) in the Public Works Department.  

Position Summary:
Under direction, operates and maintains a compactor truck on assigned refuse collection routes. Responsible for safe vehicle operation, debris collection and transport, basic service, and minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive compactor truck on assigned routes
  • Operate hydraulic lift and compactor mechanisms
  • Transport and dump refuse at designated disposal sites
  • Monitor hydraulic systems and gauges
  • Assist with loading when required
  • Clean, grease, and perform minor maintenance on the vehicle
  • Maintain required records and utilize electronic/manual reporting systems

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of experience operating a truck with a GVWR of at least 26,000 pounds
  • Experience with auxiliary or hydraulic equipment (e.g., lift body, plow, spreader, winch)
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL – Class A) with appropriate endorsements

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Safe operation of heavy trucks and air brake systems
  • Basic vehicle maintenance and minor repair skills
  • Ability to monitor hydraulic systems and gauges
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Physical activity required, including lifting and climbing.

Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.  Monday through Friday.
