NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WINSLOW, COUNTY OF CAMDEN,
AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING CHAPTER 276, ARTICLE VIII OF THE
CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WINSLOW ENTITLED
“SPEED LIMITS”
WHEREAS, the Township of Winslow (“Township”) is a municipal entity organized and existing under the laws of the State of New Jersey and located in Camden County; and
WHEREAS, the Township’s Traffic Engineer, Environmental Resolutions, Inc. (“ERI”) was authorized to conduct an investigation to determine the speed limit on roadways in the West Atco section of Winslow Township; and
WHEREAS, ERI conducted said investigation and issued their recommendation dated March 23, 2026, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, ERI’s recommendation concluded that the roadways have limited sight distance, intersections are substandard and shall have a maximum speed limit of 25 mph along said roadways as listed below in Section 279-39 of this Chapter; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-2, the Governing Body is authorized to enact and amend ordinances as deemed necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and as may be necessary to carry into effect the powers and duties conferred and imposed upon the Township by law.
NOW THEREFORE, be it Ordained by the Township Committee of the Township of Winslow, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, as follows:
SECTION 1: Article VIII of Chapter 276 of the Township Code of the Township of Winslow entitled "Speed Limits", Section 39, entitled "Speed limits established" is hereby amended, revised and supplemented to amend the following entries:

SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SECTION 4: If the provisions of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance shall be judged invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order of judgment shall not affect or invalidate the remainder of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication in accordance with law.
Notice is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced and passed upon first reading at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Winslow on the 14th day of April, 2026 , at 7:00 P.M., and the same was then ordered published according to law; and the same ordinance will be further considered for final passage during a meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Winslow to be held in the Mayor Dominic Maiese Municipal Complex, 125 S. Route 73, Braddock, New Jersey on April 28, 2026, commencing at 7:00 P.M., prevailing time, or at any time and place to which such meeting from time to time may be adjourned. All persons interested will be given an opportunity during said time to be heard concerning such Ordinance by order of the Mayor and Township Committee.
