A graduate of Temple University and a proud member of the South Jersey Chapter of the Links Incorporated, Committeewoman Leverett was originally elected to public office in 2011 and currently serves on the Winslow Township Committee. She is a member of the Economic Development Council, Shared Services Committee, Ad-Hoc Green Team, Senior Citizen Committee Director Liaison, and Assessor Office Committee Director Liaison. Also was a Liaison to the former Human Relations Commission.

Committeewoman Leverett has also had a long and distinguished career in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. In the corporate sector she has served as Regional Manager and Branch Manager for the New York City Off-Track Betting Corporation for over 15 years as well as a Training Executive for Rogen International. In the non-profit world she has functioned as the former Executive Director of Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater New York City Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, now known as NYC Komen Race for the Cure where she is still distinguished as Board Emeritus.
