A few local opportunities for service on Martin Luther King Day are listed below.  All residents are encouraged to find a way to utilize their own talents to give back on this day, January 15, 2018, and throughout the year!

 

1) The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey 14th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

This year's Martin Luther King Day of Service will feature Stockton's 14th anniversary of celebrating Dr. King.
Stockton will be hosting the largest service day to date.

 

2) Perfecting Church and Sicklerville United Methodist Church

The Perfecting Church and Sicklerville United Methodist Church Join Forces to Lift Their Voices in Song and Their Hands in Service to Honor the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

WHEN: Monday, January 15, 2018

9:00 a.m.: Volunteer Kick-Off Ceremony with Breakfast and on-site registration

10:00 a.m.:  Formal Program Begins

12 p.m.:  Community service projects underway

WHERE: Kick-off ceremony:  Sicklerville United Methodist Church, 406 Church Road, Sicklerville, New Jersey

WHAT:  Join volunteers, members and friends of The Perfecting Church and Sicklerville United Methodist Church as we join forces to lift our voices in song and our hands in service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by gathering with our neighbors to answer, according to Dr. King,"Life's most persistent and urgent question, 'What are you doing for others?'"  The day-long celebration begins at Sicklerville United Methodist Church with a Volunteer Kick-Off where guests will have breakfast, preview Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s “I Have A Dream” speech and move into action inspired by a unifying address and song selection to move them to lift their voices and hands in service of others.  Guests will then depart for one of a variety of community service projects throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Philadelphia counties.  To volunteer, register a project or request more information, visit http://www.theperfectingchurch.org/mlk_2018.html and click on "events"
